This month during Women's History Month, we've honored a few great women from a variety of industries. We would be remiss if we didn't take time to honor and celebrate our very own Stylist April B as she makes history in the natural hair and loc industries!

Stylist April B is a NY Native who realized her interest in hair from her mother, who was also a hair stylist. Moving to VA as a girl, Stylist April B began styling hair in middle and high school. Stylist April B graduated in 1998 from VA School of Hair Design.

Stylist April B relocated to GA in 2006 and worked in Corporate America until she was able to build her clientele. Stylist April B worked in salons from 2010-2020 and as of 2021, Stylist April B became the owner of Soul Boujee Salon & Creative Suites located in ATL, GA.

A few of Stylist April B's most notable contributions and credits to the field of natural hair and locs include:

  • Lead stylist on 2018 International Campaign with Revlon
  • Co-Stylist for Lupita N’Yongo for the Black Panther Movie, 2016
  • Published stylist in Sept/Oct 2016 issue of Sophisticates Black Hair Magazine

In the likeness of other greats we honored this month for Women’s History Month, Madam CJ Walker and Sarah Spencer Washington, Stylist April B has created her own hair care line, Hydrate Me Please. The staple product in the line is the infamous Moisture Cream, followed up with a Mega 9 Extreme Growth Oil, Refresher Spray and many other products. There are even various scents for the Moisture Cream and Mega 9 Extreme Growth Oil, original almond or lemon grass! Check out the line of products created and crafted by Stylist April B at www.hydratemeplease.com.

Stylist April B is setting a course for educating burgeoning natural hair stylists with her training series Elevate, Grow, & Profit. In this series, Stylist April B teaches stylists her own cutting edge, star-studded, natural hair & loc styles in a hybrid training setting: live and in-person in her salon and online. Next in the series is the Pipe Cleaner Bootcamp where Stylist April B will teach attendees how to create beautifully creative loc styles using pipe cleaners. This training is April 30, 2023 both in-person and online. For more information about this training, check out @stylistaprilb on Instagram and Facebook. Stay tuned as Stylist April B launches her My Hair is Dope line of tees/clothing.

Today, we celebrate and honor Stylist April B for Women’s History Month as she continues to make history in the natural hair and loc industries. We dare not wait to give Stylist April B her flowers for her talent and contributions to this billion dollar industry that is black hair care and beauty. Thank you April B and please continue to do what you do. WE will be here to celebrate you and to give you your flowers at every step of the way!
